Cape Greco FAQ's

Here are answers to the most asked questions about Cape Greco from the team here at Share Ayia Napa.

1. Is Cape Greco in Ayia Napa worth a visit?

As you can see from our video, 100% yes, Cape Greco in Ayia Napa is a must-visit destination.

2. Do you have to pay to get into Cape Greco National Park?

They say the best things in life are free, and when it comes to Cape Greco, this is true! There is no entrance fee to visit.

3. How do I get to Cape Greco?

Cape Greco is pretty big, and there are multiple locations worth visiting.

That said, from Ayia Napa, you can get to Cape Greco by bus (route 101), car, quad bike, etc (about 15 – 25 mins depending on traffic ) or on one of the many boat trips available.

4. Can I swim at Cape Greco?

As you can see from our video, 100% yes.

If you are brave, you can jump or dive off a cliff or find “gentler ways” to enter the crystal clear waters.

One of the best ways to swim around Cape Greco is to take a boat trip, most of which offer multiple swim stops.

5. What's the best time of day to visit Cape Greco?

This depends on what you want to do!

As a general rule, we recommend you visit early morning or late afternoon in the summer because it’s very hot, and there is little to no shade at Cape Greco.

Try and avoid 11 am-2 pm as this is the hottest time of the day.

Sunsets view from Cape Greco are amazing, especially from the Monument of Peace viewing area.

Sunsets are quite early in Cyprus, so just google “Sunset in Ayia Napa” and then head to Cape Greco around 90 minutes beforehand.

6. What should I take with me to Cape Greco?

For the best experience, we highly recommend packing a small rucksack that contains at least the following items:

  1. Water in a flask (otherwise, it will be like drinking hot water from a kettle!).
  2. A few snacks because although there are several places to buy drinks and food, there are not many, and they are far apart if you are on foot.
  3. Strong Sun cream
  4. A hat
  5. Sunglasses
  6. A pair of trainers with decent grip but not your best trainers because they will get filthy. We say this because many areas are rocky, and others are slippy!
  7.  Some wet wipes. It is very dusty at Cape Greco, so these wet wipes/baby wipes are handy. For example, if you are not near the sea, you can use these to wipe yourself down before re-applying your sun cream.
  8. A fully charged phone (for navigation and photos) and maybe even a power bank if you plan on taking lots of shots).
  9. Swimming stuff (towel, flip flops, snorkel and goggles).
